11:30am is too early for lunch no matter where you're from!

EDF came today, well, they technically aren't EDF but builders who EDF outsources to. Anyway, they came at 10am and finished at 3:30pm. Pretty good considering they left at 11:30am for LUNCH! I thought it was too funny to get mad about. 10:45 rolled along and I heard one guy tell the other "Ok, we'll stop at 11:30 and go to lunch and the restaurant isn't too far, so that's good."

Yes, this is France.

They came back at 1:30pm and finished the work. All very nice, but of course they came completely unprepared. No ladder (surely the majority of their work requires a ladder?), some of their tools were broken because they left them out in the rain last night, and (this is the best part) they required electricity to use their drills. Only 1 out of 3 worked on a battery. I thought this was really funny and forgot what the work IRONIC was in French because I would have loved to point out that it has taken me two months to get them here to give us an ELECTRIC CURRENT because we DON'T HAVE ANY, yet they manage to arrive and ask me if I have ELECTRICITY!!! HELLO!!!!! CAN'T YOU READ THE FILE IN YOUR HAND THAT SAYS "NEW CONNECTION" IN BIG, BOLD LETTERS, YOU MORON!??

So we trailed a wire across from Alex's parent's house, which is what we do anyway when we need to use our own drills, but that's not the point.....

All that we have to do now is get the "certificat de conformité" and we are good to go!!
